Description
"Matter of Time" is the third studio album by Australian singer-songwriter Meg Mac, released on September 16, 2022. This album marks a significant chapter in Meg Mac's career, showcasing her evolution as an artist and her ability to blend soulful melodies with deeply personal lyrics. The album has not only resonated with her fans but has also garnered attention for its polished production and emotional depth.
One of the standout aspects of "Matter of Time" is Meg Mac's vocal performance. Known for her powerful voice, she uses it skillfully across the album to convey a range of emotions, from vulnerability to defiance. The production complements her vocals perfectly, blending elements of soul, pop, and indie to create a sound that is both contemporary and timeless.
The album opens with the title track, "Matter of Time," which sets the tone with its introspective lyrics and lush instrumentation. This song, like many others on the album, deals with themes of time, change, and the inevitability of moving forward. It’s a strong opener that hooks the listener with its melodic and lyrical depth.
Another highlight is "Is It Worth Being Sad," a poignant ballad that showcases Meg Mac's ability to write relatable lyrics that speak to the heart. The song's minimalist arrangement allows her voice to shine, making it one of the most emotionally impactful tracks on the album.
"Only Love" is an upbeat track that contrasts with some of the album's more introspective songs. It features a catchy chorus and rhythm that make it a likely candidate for radio play, while still maintaining the album's overall tone of thoughtful pop.
The production of "Matter of Time" was handled by Meg Mac herself, along with a few collaborators, which allowed her a greater level of creative control. This is evident in the cohesive sound of the album, where each track complements the others, creating a unified listening experience that reflects Meg Mac’s artistic vision.
Critically, "Matter of Time" has been well-received. Reviewers have praised Meg Mac for her songwriting skills and the emotional weight she brings to her music. The album has been noted for its maturity and sophistication, marking a step forward from her previous work.
While "Matter of Time" has not been mentioned in the context of major award nominations
